Pneumatic Screen Stretcher

A highly precise and powerful screen stretcher, the SEFAR® Pneumapp-2 Pneumatic Stretching System is a specially developed stretching system resulting from a combination of practical experience and clever engineering. The device has a higher stretching power for improved fabric stretch.

Great Western offers three different sizes of stretching clamps (jaw widths) with an easily operated control-unit to provide a working system which is suitable for all frame sizes and fabrics. The pneumatic connectors are made for easy device reconfiguration.

Stretching safety is ensured with a progressive clamping force which prevents the screen from slipping out of the jaws.

  • Easily and quickly adapts to various frame sizes for simple, fast changeover.
  • Easily operated for adhesive application and overall efficient rescreening process.
  • Stretches any type of screening fabric whether course or fine, synthetic or wire mesh.
  • Pre-tensions frames
  • Tailored to the needs of the milling industry.
  • Robust and compact for a high quality, low maintenance construction.
  • Produces high and consistent quality sieve screening every time.

  1. Before beginning the stretching process, the screen frame must be prepared by removing all remnants from the previous screening to ensure it is smooth and flat.
  2. Determine the fabric size for insertion into the clamps.
    • Screen Size with screens > 140 µm = Frame Size + 100 mm.
    1. Determine the size and number of stretching clamps required by the size of the frame. The width of the clamping jaws should exceed the length of the corresponding frame side, and the length of the frame side should not be less than half of the length of the clamping jaw. There should be no space between two adjoining stretching clamps.
    2. Once the screen is in place and stretched, iron weights must be applied across the individual compartments of the screen tray. This ensures that the screen is in full contact with the frame before adhesive is applied.
    3. Once adhesive has been applied and activated the screen can be removed from the pneumatic clamps, trimmed, and prepared for operation once more.

The Pneumapp-2 stretching clamps are available in the following clamping jaw widths:

    Type Designation Width Net Weight
    PN-630 630 mm 19 kg
    PN-730 730 mm 20 kg
    PN-1000 1000 mm 30 kg

All models fit the below general dimensions:

    • Height (max.) – 215 mm
    • Extension beyond the frame – 250 mm
    • Total depth – 310 mm
    • Stretching stroke – 50 mm

The SEFAR Tensocheck 100-R is a useful accessory to improve screening precision. This device provides accurate fabric tension measurement on sieve frames for improved quality assurance.

This digital instrument has a wide variety of practical features:

    • Digital display with large and easy-to read numbers.
    • Measurement precision
      • Measurements over 30 N/cm are shown in steps of 0.5 N/cm.
      • Measurements below 30 N/com are shown in increments of 0.2 N/cm.
    • 3 to 50 N/cm provides a wide measurement range.
    • Zero adjustment is quick and easy with a zero-setting plate included on the meter.
    • Measurement units can be displayed as N/cm or mm with the press of a button.
    • Automatic shut-off occurs after three minutes of inactivity, preserving device service life.
